WADE STINSON
WHAT’S YOUR NAME AND ROLE, AND WHAT DIVISION DO YOU WORK UNDER AT THE CROSSING GROUP?
My name is Wade Stinson, and I am the Technical Services Supervisor for The Crossing Company and The HDD Company.
WHERE DID YOU START AND WHAT HAS YOUR CAREER PATH BEEN LIKE AT THE CROSSING GROUP?
I began my career with The Crossing Company in 2013 as a Technical Services Specialist. When hired, I had recently graduated university with a degree in Economics. My previous drilling experience, post-secondary education, and drive to succeed gave me a strong starting point as I began learning the Technical Services position.
Over the years, I gained a great deal of knowledge through hands-on experience, learning new technologies, and working through the different challenges that came with the role. As my experience grew, so did my responsibilities, eventually leading me into the role of Technical Services Supervisor. Today, a large part of my role is supporting the Technical Services team, helping them work through challenges, and making sure they have the tools, equipment, and information they need to do their jobs effectively. I also work closely with Project Managers and other teams to help keep projects moving, solve problems, and provide support wherever it is needed.
WHAT’S THE MOST REWARDING (OR FAVOURITE) PART OF YOUR ROLE?
The most rewarding part of my role is knowing that people across The Crossing Group — especially within the Technical Services team — can rely on me when they need support. Whether someone is facing a challenge, needs another perspective, or is working through a difficult issue, I take pride in being able to answer that call and help find a solution.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE THING ABOUT WORKING AT THE CROSSING GROUP?
My favourite thing about working at The Crossing Group is that hard work is recognized. It doesn't matter where you came from, who you know, or what your background is — you have the opportunity to control your own career path if you are willing to work hard, stay committed, earn the trust of those around you, and take pride in what you do.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE CULTURE AT THE CROSSING GROUP?
I would describe the culture at The Crossing Group with one word: loyalty. To me, that loyalty can be seen in three ways: loyalty to each other as individuals, loyalty to the team, and loyalty to the company.
At the individual level, many employees have worked together for years, building a strong foundation of trust, respect, and dependability. That kind of loyalty does not happen overnight. It comes from shared experience, hard work, and knowing that the people beside you can be counted on when it matters most.
At the team level, that loyalty creates a cohesive unit. When challenges come up, everyone understands the goal and trusts that each person is committed to doing their part. People are dependable, they show up for one another, and they take ownership of their responsibilities. That allows teams to take on major problems with confidence, knowing that everyone is working toward the same solution.
At the company level, loyalty is something that has to be earned, and I believe The Crossing Group has earned it by giving employees the opportunity to grow, build careers, and take pride in the work they do. The number of employees who have been with The Crossing Group for 10 years or more speaks to that. We are loyal to the company because the company has shown loyalty to its people.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE LOOKING TO WORK IN A ROLE SUCH AS YOURS AT THE CROSSING GROUP?
The key to being successful as a Technical Services Supervisor is having an unwavering work ethic and a high level of dedication. You need to own every decision you make, learn from your mistakes quickly, and never cut corners. Precision is also extremely important in this role. No matter how small or routine something may seem, it still matters. My advice to anyone looking to work in a role like this would be to take pride in every detail, stay accountable, and approach each task with the mindset that doing it right the first time matters.
