JEFF LEWIS
WHAT’S YOUR NAME AND ROLE, AND WHAT DIVISION DO YOU WORK UNDER AT THE CROSSING GROUP?
My name is Jeff Lewis, and I am the Property and Equipment Manager for The Crossing Company.
WHERE DID YOU START AND WHAT HAS YOUR CAREER PATH BEEN LIKE AT THE CROSSING GROUP?
I began my career with The Crossing Company in 2014 as a labourer in the Nisku branch. Since then, I’ve progressed through several roles — starting as a shop hand, then moving into equipment operator and shop supervisor positions before taking my current role as Property and Equipment Manager.
WHAT’S THE MOST REWARDING (OR FAVOURITE) PART OF YOUR ROLE?
The most rewarding part of my role is seeing projects come together safely and successfully, especially when it’s the result of strong collaboration with the team I work alongside every day.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE THING ABOUT WORKING AT THE CROSSING GROUP?
My favorite thing about working at The Crossing Group is the strong sense of camaraderie. Everyone works together and supports one another like a family, and no one ever leaves each other hanging.
One of my favourite projects I’ve been a part of was the Simonette project in early 2024. It presented numerous challenges that pushed me to learn the intricacies of asset inspection processes and manage tight production turnaround times.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE CULTURE AT THE CROSSING GROUP?
The culture at The Crossing Group is laid-back but highly effective — everyone gets along and is always focused on ensuring the success of all parties involved. When it comes down to it, our entire team is capable of getting things done quickly, efficiently, and safely.
Working at The Crossing Company has given me countless positive experiences. I've been encouraged to pursue further education, made lifelong friends, and gained invaluable life experience. Most importantly, I've been able to maintain a healthy work-life balance while starting and growing my family.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE LOOKING TO WORK IN A ROLE SUCH AS YOURS AT THE CROSSING GROUP?
If you're going to invest your time in something, give it your all — there’s no room for half measures. Strong time management and organizational skills are a must when ensuring your efforts make an impact.
